Max Scott, founder and director of Nomad Publishing, has a long career in book publishing, ranging from some of the major international US and British publishing houses, through to specialist heritage and history projects.
Following a Masters degree in the Department of Arabic and Middle East Studies at Edinburgh University, with study in Cairo and Sana'a, Max went on to join US publishing houses McGraw-Hill and later Prentice Hall (since subsumed into the giant Pearson Publishing, encompassing parts of US Macmillan and a range of academic and professional publishers.
From there he moved into independent publishing, running Stacey International publishers and building a list of books related largely to the Arab World. Max launched as an independent publisher in 2011, expanding rapidly and managing a small team who look after the core editorial, design, sales and publicity roles. Nomad Publishing brings together a range of innovative international travel and history books along with the a range that historically has tended more to academic works with a Middle East focus.
